Parish Pastoral Council
Following Kate Doulton’s resignation from the PPC due to work commitments, Deborrah Back has agreed to step in until the next round of elections in May 2020. We are grateful to Kate for all she has done in the parish, including on behalf of the PPC, CAFOD and the Repository, and to Deborrah for stepping in on an interim basis.
Catenians 6th PSC
The Catenians invite all Catholic Students in Years 11 to 14 (16 to 19 year olds) to enter our 6th Public Speaking Contest which is being held on Saturday 29th February 2020 at the Moorland Garden Hotel, Yelverton, Devon PL20 6DA The winner will receive the Provincial Trophy, awarded annually to the winning school, as well as a personal trophy, cash prize and certificate. The runner up will receive a personal trophy, cash prize and certificate. Certificates are awarded to all participants. The winner of our local Provincial trophy goes forward to the national competition in Manchester during September 2020. Lourdes Pilgrimage Fund & Racial Justice Sunday Collections
Thank you for your continued generosity! We raised £62.40 for The Racial Justice Collection and £131.45 for the Lourdes Pilgrimage Fund.

This unique book is now available in our Parish at the special discounted price of £6.50 Hardcover (all profits for St Joseph’s Parish Funds). Copies are also available in our repository.

If you have any palms from last year that you are able to bring into the church, they would be gratefully received. There is a basket at the back of St Joseph’s.
Family Fast Day
Friday 6th March 2020. ‘God of Wholeness, heal our hearts of all that prevents us responding to our sisters and brothers excluded by poverty and prevented from living a full and healthy life. Amen’
Lenten Lunch 2020 The Avenue Methodist Church
Bric a Brac and Cake stalls. Our parish is to host the Lenten Lunch to support Christian Aid on Wednesday 25th March and to help with this we would greatly appreciate any donations of good quality saleable goods/unwanted gifts for our bric-a-brac stall (No clothing/shoes thank you). We also need cakes and other food for our cake stall on the day please. If you do have any such items could non-perishable food and other donations be left in the Parish Office at St. Joseph’s Church/St. Gregory’s. If you are able to supply freshly baked food please bring these to The Avenue Church on the morning of the lunch. Thank you in anticipation of your generosity and co-operation. Youth Club Update
The Youth Club is now going to be held fortnightly on Friday evenings from 7:30 – 9:00pm. This will commence after the half term on Friday 28th February. We are also opening up the age range to young people from ages 8 to 14. We hope to see you there!
